The Beast Master forges a bond deeper than any spell — a lifelong partnership with a primal beast that draws its strength directly from that connection. This is no summoned servant or trained pet but a true companion, marked with the signs of its supernatural origin, that fights, scouts, and grows alongside its ranger. Where one hunts, both hunt; where one is threatened, the other answers. Two hearts, one purpose, moving through the wild as a single predator.

A Beast Master's power scales with the trust between them. The companion learns new tricks, strikes harder, and eventually mirrors the ranger's own magic, until the pair fight in a seamless, wordless coordination that no lone warrior can match. To choose this path is to accept that your greatest weapon is also your dearest friend — and that the hunt is always better shared.

3rd Level

Primal Companion

You summon a primal beast bound to you by magic — a Beast of the Land (a sturdy striker that knocks foes down), a Beast of the Sea (an amphibious grappler), or a Beast of the Sky (a swift flier that darts in and out). It shares your Proficiency Bonus across its AC (13 + your Wisdom modifier), attacks, damage, saves, and skills, and strikes using your spell attack modifier. It acts on your turn — Dodging on its own, or taking a real action when you spend a Bonus Action to command it — and if it ever falls, it returns, restored, after a rest.

7th Level

Exceptional Training

Your partnership grows more versatile. On any turn your beast doesn't attack, you can use a Bonus Action to command it to Dash, Disengage, Dodge, or Help — a scout, a bodyguard, or a distraction at will. And whenever it hits, the beast can deal Force damage instead of its normal type, its strikes now charged with the same primal magic that binds you.

11th Level

Bestial Fury

Your companion becomes a whirlwind. When you command it to attack, it can make two Beast's Strikes instead of one. And the first time each turn it hits a creature affected by your Hunter's Mark, it deals extra Force damage equal to the mark's bonus — the two of you now converging on your quarry as a single, doubled threat.

15th Level

Share Spells

The bond runs deep enough to carry your magic across it. When you cast a spell targeting yourself, you can also have it affect your beast, provided it's within 30 feet — a blessing, a shield, or a burst of speed washing over both of you at once, as though you were truly one creature.
