Circle of the Sea — Sagor från Valoris

The Circle of the Sea serves the vast, breathing water that rings the world — the reef and the riptide, the calm shallows and the killing storm. Its druids know that the ocean is never only one thing: it cradles life and it drowns it, feeds a coast and erases it, all with the same indifferent swell. To bind oneself to that power is to accept its whole temper, and to learn to loose it on command.

A Sea druid fights the way a squall arrives — suddenly, and from every direction at once. They wreathe themselves in freezing spray, hurl foes back on breaking waves, swim where others wade and fly where the storm-wind rises. In their presence the tide itself seems to take a side, and woe to whatever stands against the gathering water.

3rd Level

Circle of the Sea Spells

You gain always-prepared spells that swell as you rise: Fog Cloud, Gust of Wind, Ray of Frost, Shatter, and Thunderwave at 3rd; Lightning Bolt and Water Breathing at 5th; Control Water and Ice Storm at 7th; and Conjure Elemental and Hold Monster at 9th — the whole voice of the storm, from first gust to full gale.

3rd Level

Wrath of the Sea

As a Bonus Action, you expend a use of Wild Shape to wreathe yourself in a 5-foot Emanation of ocean spray for 10 minutes. Whenever you conjure it — and as a Bonus Action on later turns — you can choose a creature within it: it must succeed on a Constitution save (DC 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your Proficiency Bonus) or take Cold damage in d6s equal to your Wisdom modifier, and if it's Large or smaller, you push it up to 15 feet away on the breaking wave.

6th Level

Aquatic Affinity

The water grows closer to you. The Emanation of your Wrath of the Sea now reaches 10 feet rather than 5, catching more foes in the spray. And you gain a Swim Speed equal to your Speed, moving through open water as easily as any creature born to it.

10th Level

Stormborn

While your Wrath of the Sea is active, the tempest lifts and armors you. You gain a Fly Speed equal to your Speed, riding the gale above the fray, and Resistance to Cold, Lightning, and Thunder damage — the storm's own elements now unable to touch the storm's own druid.

14th Level

Oceanic Gift

You can lend the storm to another. When you manifest Wrath of the Sea, you can conjure it around a willing creature within 60 feet instead of yourself — they wield it using your spell save DC and Wisdom modifier. Or, by spending two uses of Wild Shape, you can wreathe both yourself and that ally in the spray at once, two storms walking side by side.
