Circle of the Stars — Sagor från Valoris

Long before the first druid pressed a hand to living bark, others turned their faces upward and began to read the sky. The Circle of the Stars keeps that eldest tradition — the mapping of the heavens, the memory of constellations, the conviction that the same primal power that stirs in root and river also wheels overhead in patterns older than the world. Its druids study the stars not as distant fires but as a language, and learn to speak a few of its words aloud.

A Star druid carries the night with them. Rather than becoming a beast, they take on a luminous starry form, their body strung with glimmering constellations they can shift like drawn cards — the Archer to loose radiant bolts, the Chalice to pour out healing, the Dragon to steady mind and flight. Add to that omens read from a personal star chart, and the Star druid becomes a reader of fate as much as a caster of spells.

3rd Level

Star Map

You keep a personal star chart, a Tiny object that serves as a Spellcasting Focus for your druid spells. While you hold it, you always have Guidance and Guiding Bolt prepared, and you can cast Guiding Bolt without a spell slot a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier per Long Rest. Lose the map, and an hour's ceremony conjures a new one.

3rd Level

Starry Form

As a Bonus Action, you expend a use of Wild Shape to become luminous rather than bestial — your body strung with glowing constellations for 10 minutes. Choose one to shine on you: the Archer (a Bonus Action ranged spell attack for 1d8 + Wisdom Radiant), the Chalice (whenever you cast a healing spell with a slot, you or an ally within 30 feet regains 1d8 + Wisdom), or the Dragon (treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10 on Intelligence and Wisdom checks and Concentration saves).

6th Level

Cosmic Omen

After each Long Rest, you consult your Star Map and roll a die to read the day's fortune. On an even roll (Weal), you can take a Reaction to add 1d6 to a D20 Test made by a creature within 30 feet; on an odd roll (Woe), you instead subtract 1d6 from one. You can bend fate this way a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, regaining all uses on a Long Rest.

10th Level

Twinkling Constellations

Your constellations burn brighter and shift more freely. The 1d8 of the Archer and the Chalice becomes 2d8, and while the Dragon shines you gain a Fly Speed of 20 feet and can hover. Better still, at the start of each of your turns in Starry Form, you can change which constellation glimmers on you — reading the sky anew every round.

14th Level

Full of Stars

In your Starry Form you become half-made of the night sky itself — partially incorporeal, and thus gaining Resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage. Blades and arrows pass through the space between your stars, finding little there to wound.
