Clockwork Sorcery — Sagor från Valoris

The Clockwork sorcerer draws their power from the plane of pure, absolute order — the vast turning mechanism where every gear meshes, every outcome is accounted for, and nothing is ever left to chance. Some spark of that grand equation lodged itself in them, and now their magic hums with a serene, mechanical precision. Where the Wild Magic sorcerer courts chaos, the Clockwork sorcerer is its opposite number: a walking correction, quietly smoothing the ragged edges of reality wherever they go.

It is the most disciplined and protective of the origins. A Clockwork sorcerer can simply cancel a chaotic swing of fate, ward an ally behind a shimmering shield of law, and slip into a flawless trance where nothing catches them off guard. At the summit of their power they summon a whole cavalcade of order-spirits to heal, repair, and dispel in a single sweep. Theirs is a calmer kind of might — the reassurance that, in the end, the machine runs true.

3rd Level

Clockwork Spells

Order keeps a suite of spells always ready: Aid, Alarm, Lesser Restoration, and Protection from Evil and Good at 3rd; Dispel Magic and Protection from Energy at 5th; Freedom of Movement and Summon Construct at 7th; and Greater Restoration and Wall of Force at 9th. Your other spells, too, now manifest small signs of order as you cast them — a chime, a lattice, a spinning cog of light.

3rd Level

Restore Balance

You can smooth a chaotic moment flat. When a creature you can see within 60 feet is about to roll a d20 with Advantage or Disadvantage, you can take a Reaction to cancel both, forcing a clean, single roll. You can do this a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, regaining all uses on a Long Rest — order imposed on the very swing of fate.

6th Level

Bastion of Law

You weave a shield from the grand equation. As a Magic action, spend 1 to 5 Sorcery Points to ward yourself or a creature within 30 feet with that many d8s. Whenever the warded creature takes damage, it can expend those dice to reduce it by the total rolled. The ward holds until you finish a Long Rest or raise a new one — a reservoir of order standing between an ally and harm.

14th Level

Trance of Order

You align your mind with the endless calculations of the machine. As a Bonus Action, you enter a Trance for 1 minute: attack rolls against you can't benefit from Advantage, and whenever you make a D20 Test, you treat a roll of 9 or lower as a 10 — steady, unhurried, and impossible to catch off guard. Once used, you recover it on a Long Rest or for 5 Sorcery Points.

18th Level

Clockwork Cavalcade

You summon order made manifest. As a Magic action, a spectral cavalcade of clockwork spirits fills a 30-foot Cube around you and, in a single sweep, restores up to 100 Hit Points split among creatures of your choice, repairs every damaged object within it, and ends every spell of level 6 or lower on chosen creatures and objects. Once used, you recover it on a Long Rest or for 7 Sorcery Points.
