To the dancer, a fight is only choreography that hasn't been rehearsed. Where other bards raise a voice, the dancer raises a body — spinning through the reach of a blade, turning a stumble into a flourish, answering a swung sword with a step that was already leaving. Armor would only weigh down the figure; the dance itself is the armor, every motion a note in a longer, unbroken measure.

It is a discipline as much as an art. The dancer trains until grace is reflex, until the same footwork that dazzles a hall can carry a wounded ally out of a spell's reach or trip a charging foe into empty air. Beauty and survival, in this college, are the same skill — and both are contagious to everyone moving in time with you.

3rd Level

Dazzling Footwork

While you wear no armor and wield no Shield, the dance becomes your defense and your weapon. You have Advantage on Charisma (Performance) checks involving dance, and your base Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier.

Whenever you expend a use of Bardic Inspiration as part of an action, Bonus Action, or Reaction, you can make one Unarmed Strike as part of that same action. Your Unarmed Strikes can use Dexterity for their attack rolls, and in place of their normal damage you may deal Bludgeoning damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die + your Dexterity modifier — and that roll doesn't expend the die.

6th Level

Inspiring Movement

The dance sweeps others along with it. When an enemy ends its turn within 5 feet of you, you can take a Reaction and expend one use of Bardic Inspiration to move up to half your Speed. Then one ally of your choice within 30 feet can also use their Reaction to move up to half their Speed. None of this movement provokes Opportunity Attacks.

6th Level

Tandem Footwork

You set the tempo before the first blow lands. When you roll Initiative, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration (no action required) and roll the die. You and each ally within 30 feet who can see or hear you gain a bonus to Initiative equal to the number rolled — the whole band stepping off together, a beat ahead of the enemy.

14th Level

Leading Evasion

You have danced clear of worse than this. When you're subjected to an effect that lets you make a Dexterity saving throw for half damage, you instead take no damage on a success and only half on a failure. More than that, you can extend this grace: choose any number of allies within 5 feet who can see or hear you, and they gain the same benefit against that effect. You can't use this feature while you have the Incapacitated condition.
