Every barbarian knows the fury. The Berserker knows only the fury. Where others ride the rage and keep one hand on the reins, the Berserker lets go entirely — pouring every scrap of restraint into the swing of the axe, the crack of the fist, the next foe and the next. There is nothing held back, nothing saved for later. There is only the fight, and the Berserker at the burning center of it.

Such abandon is not without its toll. A mind drowned in wrath cannot be reasoned with, charmed, or cowed — but neither does it always find its way back cleanly. The Berserker learns to spend fury like coin, knowing each frenzy leaves them hollowed and shaking when the red tide recedes. To them it is a fair trade. Enemies do not get up. That is enough.

3rd Level

Frenzy

When you use Reckless Attack while your Rage is active, the first target you hit that turn with a Strength-based attack takes extra damage: roll a number of d6s equal to your Rage Damage bonus and add them together, dealing the same damage type as the weapon or Unarmed Strike you struck with.

Recklessness and fury feed each other — the Berserker throws the guard wide open precisely so the blow lands that much harder.

6th Level

Mindless Rage

Fury leaves no room for fear. While your Rage is active, you have Immunity to the Charmed and Frightened conditions — and if either already grips you when you enter your Rage, it ends immediately, drowned out by the storm in your head.

10th Level

Retaliation

Strike the Berserker and pay for the privilege. When you take damage from a creature within 5 feet of you, you can take a Reaction to make one melee attack against it — with a weapon or an Unarmed Strike — every wound they open only inviting another of your own.

14th Level

Intimidating Presence

As a Bonus Action, you unleash raw menace in a 30-foot Emanation. Each creature of your choice within it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your Proficiency Bonus) or be Frightened for 1 minute, repeating the save at the end of each of its turns. Once you use this, you can't again until a Long Rest — unless you expend a use of your Rage to refresh it.
