Great Old One Patron — Sagor från Valoris

The Great Old One warlock has bound themselves to something vast, ancient, and utterly incomprehensible — a slumbering entity in the deep, a mind adrift between the stars, a presence so far beyond mortal understanding that it may not even be aware of the pact it granted. What flows from that connection is quiet and cerebral: telepathy without words, spells that reshape the mind, and a fortress of thought no other creature can breach. Their magic doesn't roar. It whispers.

It is the most subtle and psychic of the pacts. A Great Old One warlock speaks mind-to-mind across miles, casts their spells in absolute silence, and turns their own thoughts into a weapon that harms anyone foolish enough to reach for them. In time they can bind an enemy's very attention, curse a foe with crippling misfortune, and call forth an aberrant thrall of their own. Theirs is the pact of the patient, unknowable dark — power granted, perhaps, by something that simply forgot to say no.

3rd Level

Great Old One Spells

Your patron keeps a suite of spells always ready: Detect Thoughts, Dissonant Whispers, Phantasmal Force, and Tasha's Hideous Laughter at 3rd; Clairvoyance and Hunger of Hadar at 5th; Confusion and Summon Aberration at 7th; and Modify Memory and Telekinesis at 9th — the whole strange armory of the mind and the void.

3rd Level

Awakened Mind & Psychic Spells

Your mind reaches out. As a Bonus Action, you form a telepathic link with a creature within 30 feet, speaking mind-to-mind across your Charisma modifier in miles for minutes equal to your Warlock level. And through Psychic Spells, you can change any damaging Warlock spell's type to Psychic, and cast your Enchantment and Illusion spells with no Verbal or Somatic components — magic that leaves no trace of its casting.

6th Level

Clairvoyant Combatant

Your telepathy becomes a duelist's edge. When you form a bond with a creature through Awakened Mind, you can force it to make a Wisdom save (DC 8 + your Charisma modifier + your Proficiency Bonus). On a failure, for as long as the bond lasts, it has Disadvantage on attacks against you and you have Advantage on attacks against it — you simply know where it will move before it does. Recharges on a rest, or for a Pact slot.

10th Level

Eldritch Hex & Thought Shield

Your patron grants a curse and a fortress. You always have Hex prepared, and when you cast it and choose an ability, the target also has Disadvantage on saving throws of that ability. And through Thought Shield, your thoughts can't be read, you gain Resistance to Psychic damage, and any creature that deals Psychic damage to you takes the same amount back.

14th Level

Create Thrall

You call an aberration to serve you. You can cast Summon Aberration without Concentration — once between Long Rests without even a spell slot, or otherwise with a Pact slot. Cast this way, it lasts 1 minute, and the summoned aberration gains Temporary Hit Points equal to your Warlock level + your Charisma modifier. Better still, the first time each turn it strikes a creature under your Hex, it deals the Hex's bonus damage too — your curse and your thrall hunting as one.
