Jötunn Sorcery — Sagor från Valoris

Before the gods, before the Correction, before the church learned to name the things it feared — there were the giants. The old powers of the deep world — frost, fire, storm, and stone — each a lord in their own right, and no crown among them. They lost. Their names were struck from every record the Sixfold Light keeps.

But blood outlasts records. Somewhere up your line, one of the giant-lords left a spark, and in you it has begun to wake. You run hot or cold to the touch; your temper carries weather; you are larger than you were last winter, and you are not done growing. The church has a word for people like you. It is the same word it uses for the rune-bearers, and it is not a kind one.

Choose a Lineage

Which giant-lord's blood runs in you sets your elder damage — the element your power answers to — and the spells your blood already knows.

Level 3

Elder Blood

The old blood thickens you against the world. Your hit point maximum increases by 3, and it increases by 1 again each time you gain a sorcerer level thereafter.

Old-world hardiness shows through your skin: while you aren't wearing armor, your base Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier. When you take this origin, choose your lineage from the table above; it sets your elder damage type, used by the features below.

Level 6

Elder Affinity

You have Resistance to your elder damage type. When you cast a spell that deals that type of damage, you can add your Charisma modifier to one of the spell's damage rolls.

Your frame carries the giants' weight as well. You have Advantage on saving throws to avoid being grappled, shoved, or knocked Prone, and you can attempt to grapple or shove creatures up to Huge.

Level 14

Giant's Might

The blood surges, and you grow. As a Bonus Action, you take on a giant's stature for 1 hour, or until you dismiss it (no action required). Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a Long Rest, unless you spend 3 Sorcery Points to renew it. While it lasts:

Your size becomes Large, if there is room.
You have Advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws, and your reach increases by 5 feet.
Once on each of your turns, you can add your Charisma modifier to one damage roll of your elder damage type.

Level 18

The Elder Wakes

The giant-lord's blood no longer merely answers you — it remakes you. While your Giant's Might is active, you gain all of the following:

Your size becomes Huge, if there is room.
You have Immunity to your elder damage type, and you can't be Frightened or Charmed — nothing old enough to be a giant flinches.
When you fail a saving throw, you can choose to succeed instead. Once you do, you can't again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.
