Most barbarians spend their rage outward, as destruction. This one draws it inward first, from a deep well of life — pictured in the tradition as a great and ancient tree — and lets that vitality flood through them before it ever reaches a blade. When they rage, they do not only burn hotter; they take root, becoming a source of strength that others can draw on too.

Such a warrior fights like something that cannot easily be brought down. Wounds are answered with fresh vigor, allies are wrapped in the same borrowed life, and the ground itself grows pliable — foes are dragged into reach and companions carried out of danger. To stand beside one is to stand in the shelter of something patient and deep-rooted — a warrior who bends the whole fight around the people they have chosen to keep standing.

3rd Level

Vitality of the Tree

When you activate your Rage, you gain Temporary Hit Points equal to your Barbarian level. And at the start of each of your turns while Raging, you can choose another creature within 10 feet of you to share in that life — roll a number of d6s equal to your Rage Damage bonus, and it gains that many Temporary Hit Points.

To rage is not only to strike. It is to become the shelter the weak can stand behind.

6th Level

Branches of the Tree

While Raging, immediately after a creature you can see within 30 feet starts its turn, you can take a Reaction to summon spectral branches around it. Unless it succeeds on a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your Proficiency Bonus), it is teleported to an empty space within 5 feet of you — or the nearest free space — and its Speed drops to 0 until the end of that turn.

10th Level

Battering Roots

During your turn, your reach is 10 feet greater with any Melee weapon that has the Heavy or Versatile property. Such a weapon also gains the Push and Topple mastery properties — so a telling blow can drive a foe back or knock it Prone (you benefit from one at a time).

14th Level

Travel Along the Tree

When you activate your Rage, and as a Bonus Action while it is active, you can teleport up to 60 feet to a space you can see. Once per Rage you can extend that step to 150 feet and carry up to six willing creatures within 10 feet of you, each arriving near your destination.
